Nat Geo's Ultimate Adventure Bucket List 2011

These annual adventure bucket lists from National Geographic are great.  The “extreme” adventures are, you guessed it, extreme, to say the least.  The “next best” list is a little be more attainable and less life threatening for us amateurs.  There are several of these adventures that are on my list: (1) trek to Machu Picchu; (2) climb Aconcagua; (3) skipper your own boat; (4) trek the Mont Blanc circuit; (5) raft the Grand Canyon; (6) trek to Everest base camp (I haven’t put climbing Everest on my bucket list yet, but I’d love to see that region some day); and (7) climb the Tetons’ Cathedral Traverse.
